If you've bought books and other items from us, you know that our red price tags are very noticeable and very helpful to us in determining how long an item has been on our shelf.
But you'll also notice that they're a pain in the neck to remove! And we sympathize with you on that. We want to explain that we would love to have more removeable stickers on our inventory, but the sad truth is that in the past when we did use them, many unscrupulous customers switched price tags on itmes to rip us off.
So unfortunately, we've had to resort to the necessary evil of difficult to remove price tags. We do, however try not to use them on older collectable books, and write them on the inside in pencil so as not to destroy the cover.
New covers have a more glossy finish, so they can be removed diligently, but effectively. And if there are any remnants left of the glue-type stuff on the book, you can use "Goo-Gone" found in any hardware store. It will remove the rest of the stubborn stuff left on the book.
We're happy to do it for you on the spot when you buy the book(s) as well.
We used to price all our books in pencil, but......you guessed it! Rip-off customers changing prices in our pencil on us. What a world we live in.
We joke to our regulars that if this were a totally honest world, I could just stay at home, and you could just put your money in the cash register, collect your own change and take your books. We'd never have to leave the house! LOL
Another advantage of the price tags over pencilling is that with the volume of books we get in daily, it takes 1/3 the time to price them with tags, especially when we can put the in-stock date on them as well.
So there you have it, not a perfect system, but we hope it's something you can live with.
